Would you like the opportunity to host one or more French visitors for a few days in August? If so read on ……
We would welcome new people to be involved in the exchange visit of our French friends from Ouzouer-sur-Loire. You don’t have to live in Great Ayton so do share this invitation with friends and family who might be interested. People of all ages either as individuals or families can be involved.
We are still in the planning stage for the programme for the weekend but on Friday we hope to visit Hopetown Railway Museum. We will have a social evening complete with food, wine and entertainment in Great Ayton on the Saturday and will meet for a barbecue on the Sunday - weather permitting. There will be plenty of opportunity to practice your French but many of the French visitors do speak some English.
Here is the provisional outline of the programme for the weekend.
Visitors arrive Great Ayton Thursday 20th August 2026 in the evening.
Friday 21st August 2026 coach trip to Hopetown Railway Museum.
Saturday 22nd August 2026 Social evening in Christ Church Hall Great Ayton.
Sunday 23rd August 2026 Optional walk and pub meal.
Visitors depart Great Ayton Monday 24th August 2013 early morning.

In addition to the exchange visits GATA organises a number of fund raising social events through the year. Over the last few months we have had a quiz night at the Royal Oak in Great Ayton and French film nights. Our next social event will be a barbecue in June - date yet to be decided.
